Driver Recruiter
About the Role
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for all driver recruiting efforts for applicants directed to J.B. Hunt. The role focuses on outward-focused recruiting, including soliciting and screening potential drivers for all divisions, and selling J.B. Hunt's compensation and benefits package to secure qualified drivers.
Responsibilities
- Manage outbound and inbound phone calls.
- Engage driver leads from computer databases and internet resources through cold calling, email, chat, SMS, campaigns, or other tools as needed.
- Maintain contact and track leads, applicants, and candidates for current and future opportunities using a dashboard to direct workflow.
- Assist onboarding and background teams in gathering necessary items from drivers to expedite the hiring process and address issues within the process.
- Pre-qualify applicants based on J.B. Hunt and DOT minimum hiring requirements; guide applicants through pre-qualification and the application process.
- Explain J.B. Hunt’s pay, benefits, and current openings to potential drivers.
- Compare a driver’s qualifications to the requirements of open positions.
- Build and maintain relationships with potential candidates and confirm their level of interest throughout the hiring process.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of recruiting, customer service, or sales experience, or a suitable combination of education and training.
- Preferred experience in one or more of the following: sales, customer experience, recruiting, transportation/logistics, call center, or related fields.
Skills and Abilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time effectively and make time-sensitive decisions to meet productivity goals.
- Strong verbal communication skills, particularly over the phone.
- Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and handle rejection effectively.
- Experience in sales or the ability to manage rejection.
- Proficiency in using computers in a workplace setting, including learning new systems and multitasking (e.g., data input during phone conversations).
Pay
This role offers a competitive and performance-based pay structure. While individual earnings vary based on performance, the average annual W-2 earnings for this role are approximately $86,000. This position may also be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes, in accordance with the Company’s bonus and incentive plans.
