About the role

Auto Driveaway, one of the largest professional driveaway companies in the US, is seeking an energetic Driver Recruiter to introduce and onboard drivers while also assisting with related safety compliance duties. This team member will maintain a diverse, engaged professional driver network essential to Auto Driveaway’s operations and customer experience. Moving tens of thousands of assets per year—from cars to Class 8 trucks to specialized equipment—having highly trained, safety-conscious drivers ensures vehicles entrusted to us are delivered on time and as promised. With safety as a core value, the Driver Recruiter will also assist in monitoring compliance activities to ensure drivers are in full compliance with FMCSA regulations, operating safely and professionally.

Auto Driveaway is a leading national provider of professional vehicle relocation services, serving large corporate fleets, fleet management companies, upfitters, dealerships, and vehicle and truck OEMs with fast, safe, and reliable door-to-door driveaway service nationwide. Services include fleet shipping, fleet management, single-vehicle "door-to-door driveaway" shipping, and short-term and reconditioning services across all asset types.

Responsibilities

• Recruit professional drivers for all asset types, including DOT and CDL-capable resources.
• Screen applications; conduct phone and/or in-person interviews to determine the most qualified driver candidates for onboarding.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure the driver population reflects forecasted volume and specific projects, including holding regional recruitment initiatives.
• Develop driver utilization metrics to keep safe drivers busy and rewarded.
• Establish a driver engagement platform to drive corporate culture, customer service excellence, and inclusion across a geographically dispersed network.
• Partner with the safety and compliance team on driver onboarding and training processes.
• Explore new and innovative recruiting opportunities to grow the driver population across all segments, including DOT and CDL drivers, using traditional and non-traditional techniques (e.g., cold-calling, direct sourcing, networking, job fairs, employment agencies, internet searches, postings).
• Actively participate in and contribute to driver recruitment initiatives while communicating proactively with business partners.
• Provide requested reporting and analytics.
• Grow Auto Driveaway’s reputation as the driveaway company of choice across the United States.
• Ensure DOT files are complete and in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
• Maintain internal processes to ensure efficient administration of DOT compliance.
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion in making recommendations to upper management regarding compliance standards.
• Assist with the administration of driver pre-employment and random drug screening.
• Manage new hire Comdata card distribution.
• Conduct driver orientation.
• Build and send out driver legals.
• Complete previous employment verifications on future and past drivers.

Requirements

• 2+ years of recruiting experience, with proven mastery of the full life cycle of recruitment for drivers, including relevant federal and state laws.
• Experience with CDL drivers is strongly desired.
• Strong background in transportation, logistics, or related fields.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• High energy, enthusiasm, and drive for achieving results.
• Passion for safety and customer experience.
• Ability to conduct cold calls, research-based sourcing, and internet/web-based recruiting.
• Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Project planning and project management skills.
• Data analysis and/or report-building experience.
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and self-motivation.
• Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required.
