About the Role

As a PACE Driver, your primary responsibility is the safe, courteous, and timely transportation of PACE participants to and from the PACE Center, medical appointments, therapy sessions, and approved community destinations. You will provide exceptional customer service and ensure participant safety while interacting with caregivers, community agencies, and the interdisciplinary team at Hope PACE.

Responsibilities

  • Transport physically limited passengers to varied destinations in a timely, safe, and door-to-door manner.
  • Ensure the van is in proper working order; report and document maintenance performed.
  • Assist passengers on and off the van safely and courteously, handling medical equipment and emergencies as they arise.
  • Follow established schedules, adjust for unanticipated changes, and determine the safest and most efficient routes.
  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing to participant care planning and medical record notations.
  • Report important participant information to Hope PACE staff daily regarding changes, progress, or unusual events.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthful day center environment.
  • Assist with patient care in the day health center when not transporting participants.
  • Represent the company professionally and with integrity in all interactions with co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
  • Complete all job responsibilities thoroughly, using good judgment and exemplifying excellent customer service.
  • Proactively seek assistance from a supervisor when unsure of tasks or responsibilities.
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED certification (must include hands-on skills validation; courses from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association meet this requirement).
  • Certification of completion of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias Training through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
  • At least one year of experience transporting handicapped individuals and working with the frail elderly.

Monday–Friday, daytime hours.

Pay

Pay range: $16.96 – $25.24 per hour.

This position requires consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment, as well as ongoing compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy. All employees are submitted through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse to verify eligibility after a conditional offer of employment and on an ongoing basis.
