Driver (PACE)

About the role

We help physically limited passengers travel to and from their destinations under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator. The position involves constant interaction with caregivers and community agencies, ensuring safe and efficient transportation.

Responsibilities

• Directly transport physically limited passengers using a specially equipped van, including the use of wheelchair lifts and securement equipment.
• Safely adjust schedules as needed, determining safe and efficient routes.
• Absorb and respond to basic medical or emergency situations as needed during transportation.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain the van in safe operating condition, reporting any maintenance needs promptly.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to participant care planning.
• Report any changes in participant condition to appropriate team members.
• Accurately and timely complete required documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred, with at least 1 year of experience transporting individuals with special mobility needs.
• Valid Chauffeur/CDL driver's license with a clean driving record required.

• Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively in a group setting.

Skills

• Effective communication with participants, families, staff, and outside agencies.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
