Responsibilities
- Provide safe, reliable, and courteous transportation to the PACE center and medical appointments.
- Must have a clean driving record and pass a Level 2 background check.
- Must have great people skills.
- Under the supervision of the Manager, Transportation, responsible for the direct transportation of physically limited passengers to and from their destinations.
- Ensure the van is in proper working order and report and document maintenance performed.
- Afford passengers on and off the van in a safe and courteous manner.
- Deal with medical equipment and other emergencies that may arise.
- Follow established schedules, adjust schedules to meet unanticipated changes, determine the safest and most efficient pick-up and delivery routes.
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary team, contributing to participant care planning and notations in the medical record.
- Report important information to the appropriate staff of Hope PACE daily.
- Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy day center environment.
- May assist with patient care in the day health center when not transporting participants.
- Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times with others, including co-workers, management, vendors, and customers.
- Consistently represent Hope with integrity and professionalism.
- Complete all job responsibilities thoroughly and completely, using good judgment in all aspects of the job.
- Carry out duties and responsibilities in a manner that exemplifies excellent customer service.
- Proactively seek assistance from the immediate supervisor when unsure about directed tasks or job responsibilities.
- Assist with special projects, as requested.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid Florida Driver's License, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. First Aid, CPR, and AED certification required, with hands-on skills validation. Certification of completion of Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias Training through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.
- Experience: At least one year experience in transporting handicapped individuals and working with the frail elderly.
