About the role
Under the direction of the shift supervisor and/or the shift team leader, the CDL Shuttle Driver will be responsible for operating a semi-tractor trailer vehicle for the loading and delivery of products to/from the plant to the warehouse in a manner consistent with all safety, quality, and operational work instructions.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate the shuttle vehicle on each trip and follow all applicable laws and company policy.
- Maintain records involving trailer numbers and vehicle positions.
- Interact daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
- Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
- Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed.
- Place safety wheel chocks in front of wheels/tires to prevent trailer from rolling.
- Ensure proper placement of trailer jack stands when pup trailer movement is involved; notify customer if no jack stand is installed.
- Properly use airline/electrical hookups and follow backing procedures.
- Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
- Perform daily inspections and minor maintenance on equipment.
- Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Work overtime as dictated by business, whether mandatory or voluntary.
Minimum Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
- Minimum 2 years of verified tractor-trailer experience within the past 4 years.
- Clean driving record.
- Meet DOT physical requirements and maintain valid medical certificate.
- Pass road and backing test during onboarding.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Class A CDL: Combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 lbs. or more, provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) towed is in excess of 10,000 lbs.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse during warmer and colder months.

Pay
For this position, the expected base pay range is $26.50 – $28.50 hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
