Driver & Dealer Examiner / Driver & Vehicle Services Examining & Inspection Specialist
About the role
The Driver & Vehicle Services Examining & Inspection Specialist (DVS Exam & Insp Spec) is responsible for administering vision screening, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators to ensure they are qualified to obtain a Minnesota driver's license. Additionally, this position inspects motor vehicle dealership facilities and records to ensure compliance with state dealer laws, and inspects motor vehicles for identification and titling purposes.
Responsibilities
- Administer vision screening, knowledge, oral, road and skills tests for motor vehicle operators
- Inspect motor vehicle dealership facilities and records to ensure compliance with state dealer laws
- Inspect motor vehicles for identification and titling purposes
- Provide customer service in a high volume, stressful environment
- Resolve issues and negotiate with individuals during face-to-face interactions
- Problem solve and prioritize duties while working independently
Requirements
- Unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities
Qualifications
- Oral, written, and customer service communication skills
- Cashiering and math skills to perform basic math
- Typing-Keyboarding skills sufficient to enter data accurately into a computer
- Knowledge of driving and motor vehicle laws
- Knowledge of a written and spoken second language (e.g., Spanish, Hmong or Somali)

Pay
$23.31 - $32.94 / hourly; $48,671 - $68,778 / annually
Schedule
Day Shift / 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
