Driver - Cylinder

About the role

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Driver - Cylinder for their facility in Allentown, PA. This role involves driving, handling cylinders, and performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of Customer Service while delivering, including unloading and moving products to customer use points and reloading empty cylinders back onto the vehicle.
• Drive approximately 30% of the day, with the remaining time spent on delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders, customer contact, vehicle maintenance inspections.
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders and documents in compliance with DOT/TC Regulations.
• Placard the vehicle according to hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Identify and report need for vehicle repairs and maintenance.
• Process medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures.
• Load and unload product from weekly shuttle trucks.
• Operate and maintain cylinder scales and associated equipment.
• Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment.
• Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and governmental procedures.
• Operate and maintain forklift trucks and other plant vehicles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Degree/G.E.D.
• At least 2 years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training school with equipment similar to Linde's.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past 2 years.
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years.
• Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Class B CDL with Hazmat on CDL or ability to obtain Hazmat within 60 days of hire.
• 2+ years experience in plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Read and write in English.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Must be able to pass a drug screening.
