Driver - Cylinder
About the role
You will provide a high standard of customer service while delivering products, including unloading at customer locations, moving products to the point of use, and reloading returned empty cylinders onto the vehicle.
Driving represents approximately 30% of the day. The remaining time includes delivery, cylinder handling, shipping orders/paperwork, customer contact, and vehicle AM/PM inspections.
- Accurately count and record quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up.
- Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders in accordance with DOT/TC Regulations.
- Placard vehicle according to hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Identify need for vehicle repairs and/or maintenance and ensure timely completion.
- Process medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures.
- Perform visual, physical, and odor tests on cylinders before filling to determine if retesting and/or repairs are required.
- Check cylinder quantities, styles, and product, and fill any necessary product.
- Load and unload product from weekly shuttle truck.
- Operate and maintain cylinder scales and associated equipment.
- Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment; key data into the computer to justify stock inventory.
- Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and governmental procedures.
- Operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles.
Requirements
- High School Degree or G.E.D. required.
- Two (2) years driving experience or completion of a truck driver training school operating similar equipment.
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or other moving violations in the past two (2) years.
- No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years.
- Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass a DOT physical.
- Valid Class A/B CDL required; current Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
- Two (2+) years' experience in a plant or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and write in English.
- Must be 21 years or older.

Pay
$19.47 - $28.56 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule
1st Shift, CDL B required.
