Driver - Cylinder

About the role

Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a Driver - Cylinder for a position in Billerica, MA. This role involves driving, handling cylinders, and performing various administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard of Customer Service while delivering, including unloading and moving products to customer use points and reloading empty cylinders back onto the vehicle.
• Drive approximately 30% of the day, with the remaining time spent on delivery, cylinder handling, paperwork, customer interaction, vehicle maintenance inspections.
• Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up.
• Complete Hazardous Material shipping orders papers in compliance with DOT/TC Regulations.
• Placard vehicles according to hazardous material regulations and Linde standards.
• Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Identify need for vehicle repairs and ensure they are completed on time.
• Process medical and industrial gas cylinders using established plant guidelines and procedures.
• Perform visual, physical, and odor tests on cylinders before filling and determine if retesting or repairs are needed.
• Load and unload products from a weekly shuttle truck.
• Operate and maintain cylinder scales and associated equipment.
• Prepare warehouse transfer orders and accompanying paperwork for shipment, keying in quantities, styles, and products filled to justify stock inventory.
• Complete and maintain quality control documentation as per company and governmental procedures.
• Operate a forklift truck and other plant vehicles.

Requirements

• A High School Degree / G.E.D. is required.
• Two (2) years driving experience or completion of a course from a truck driver training school operating similar equipment to Linde's.
• No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two (2) years.
• No alcohol-related convictions within the last ten (10) years.
• A current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a DOT physical.
• A valid Class A/B CDL is required.
• Ability to obtain Hazmat certification within 60 days of hire.
• More than two (2+) years experience in plant or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Read and write in English.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $23.58-$34.59 per hour.
