About the Role
The incumbent will direct or assist in directing a competitive sport program while meeting Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) requirements. The coach serves as a mentor and positive role model for students, fostering both athletic and personal development.
Responsibilities
- Build positive working relationships with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community.
- Develop young athletes while cultivating a strong, positive, and competitive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship and academic excellence.
- Mentor, train, and educate athletes in sport-specific skills and techniques.
- Foster a winning culture on and off the court or field.
- Train student athletes in safety and injury prevention.
- Maintain knowledge of UHSAA requirements and regulations.
- Uphold program traditions and engage with an involved community.
Requirements
- Cleared background check through Granite School District (cost covered by the district).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of required trainings and certifications, including anti-bullying/hazing training, concussion training, and First Aid/CPR certification.
Qualifications
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
- Ability to work with significant unsupervised access to students.
Compensation
Nominal stipend.
