About the role
Nooter/Eriksen is an employee-owned company specializing in HRSG design, construction, and supply of equipment and solutions in the power industry. We are currently seeking a Detailer to join our Drafting Team.
Responsibilities
- Compile necessary design and layout information into engineering drawings for N/E suppliers to create fabrication drawings.
- Enter HRSG casing and coil design information into a database-exchange XML format to support fabrication drawings.
- Train new employees on N/E guidelines and standards and guide them on incorporating project-specific data into engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with the Layout Design Coordinator to ensure timely completion of custom-designed equipment.
- Ensure all internal departments, external customers, and fabrication subcontractors have the most current design information using the company’s document-management system and other tools.
- Document status of assigned project deliverables through routine updates of project status reports and company schedules.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with advanced drafting and modeling skills in 2D and 3D design, including experience in creating engineering and fabrication drawings.
- Associate degree in Technical or Vocational education preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Working knowledge of AISC, AWS weld symbols, and international standard structural shapes, and ability to apply this knowledge to custom designed equipment.
- Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation / Autodesk AutoCAD platforms, Microsoft Windows, and standard Office Suite applications.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills, proficient in English, and able to adapt to project and procedural changes.
- Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data, and communicate effectively.
Qualifications
- Experience with domestic travel up to 10% may be required, including climbing stairs, ladders, and entering confined spaces during plant visits and inspections.
