About the role
The Drafter II position within the drafting department at ZCS involves leveraging expertise in BIM technology, engineering, and construction to develop construction documents for various projects. This role requires managing individual workload, supporting other disciplines, and collaborating with project partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents for projects ranging from private residences to K-12 campuses and commercial developments using knowledge and experience in engineering and BIM technologies.
- Monitor project status, meet deadlines, and ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
- Aid in project development and support architectural and engineering staff through standard design processes (schematic design, design development, and construction documents).
- Collaborate with project partners including in-house disciplines, owners, architects, sub-consultants, and others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program, bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university, associate degree in drafting or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in architectural, structural engineering, civil engineering, or drafting in a consulting firm providing engineering services.
- Strong critical thinking, engagement skills, and ability to execute concepts under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Must possess strong technical skills and aptitude for project management.
- Ability to travel occasionally to support projects throughout the state.
