About the role
The Drafter II position within the drafting department at ZCS is dedicated to leveraging advanced BIM technology (specifically Revit) and extensive knowledge of engineering and construction to develop construction documents. This role collaborates closely with structural engineers and supports various disciplines in creating comprehensive project plans.
Responsibilities
- Develop construction documents for a variety of projects, including private residences, K-12 campuses, and commercial developments.
- Manage individual workload to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary constraints.
- Support architectural and engineering staff through standard design processes, including schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with project partners, including in-house disciplines, owners, architects, sub-consultants, and others.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in architecture, civil engineering, or drafting from an accredited program.
- Minimum 3 years of post-graduate experience in architectural, structural engineering, civil engineering, or drafting in a consulting firm providing engineering services.
- Strong critical thinking, engagement skills, and ability to execute concepts under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers for tasks such as keyboarding and data entry.
- Must be able to see and hear to gather and input information and respond to inquiries.
- Able to drive and have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Able to work in low light conditions and follow internal safety guidelines.
- Able to walk throughout a warehouse floor.
