Drafter/Designer
About the role
As a Drafter Designer, you'll plot, map, design, and draft in CADD using the requirements for telecommunications networks and permits. You will create accurate network maps, layouts, drawings, and detailed electronic construction prints to meet customer expectations.
What You'll Do
- Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
- Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
- Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
- Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
- Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
- Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
- Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications
- Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver's license
- Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening
- Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed
- May be required to work after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed
- Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position
Qualifications
- You will have training in the field
- You will have good interpersonal skills
- You will have solid experience with the principles and practices of fiber specific projects, network deployments and related fields
- You may have 1 or more years of progressive experience in drafting
- You may have proficiency in Auto CAD
- You may have advanced training in the field
Physical & Safety Requirements
Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The noise level in the work environment for this position is moderate. Employees performing these job functions are required to lift or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds in a shift with assistance. Pauley Construction, LLC; as well as the position of Drafter/Designer, are safety sensitive.
Pay
The Drafter/Designer hourly wage range is $20.00 - $25.00 depending on experience.
