About the role
Discover a more connected career at AtRJE Telecom, LLC, as a Drafter Designer. You’ll plot, map, design, and draft in CADD using the requirements for telecommunications networks and permits. You will create accurate network maps, layouts, drawings, and detailed electronic construction prints to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
- Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
- Collaborate with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
- Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, including bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
- Ensure facility designs adhere to company standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
- Prepare any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
- Maintain project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience
- A degree in a related field is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of Telecommunications industry standards, regulations for OSP facilities, aerial, buried, and underground construction methods and engineering requirements, government permit requirements, OSP Communications Design systems, and familiarity with NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium, and/or Varasset
- Understanding of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment
Qualifications
- Physical abilities and exposures: Routinely work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse; occasionally operate a vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
Skills
- Proficiency in telecommunications industry standards and regulations
- Experience with OSP facilities and construction methods
- Knowledge of fiber optic technology and splicing
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
