Drafter/Designer

What You’ll Do

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, including bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
• Affirm facility designs adhere to company standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
• Prepare necessary documentation for cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks within tight timelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• Be at least 18 years old and eligible to work in the United States
• High School Diploma, GED, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering experience
• A degree in a related field, such as an Associate’s or Bachelor's, is preferred
• Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards, regulations, and construction methods
• Experience with OSP Communications Design systems, including NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium, and/or Varasset
• Understanding of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments, and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally: Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk

Pay

The wage range for Drafter/Designer is $22.00 - $26.00 per hour.
