About the role
We are seeking a skilled Cabinet Designer to join our growing team. This role is perfect for detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working collaboratively with project teams, interpreting construction drawings, and delivering high-quality design solutions for commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Design commercial cabinetry projects using 2020 Design Software.
- Prepare accurate project quotes, estimates, and material take-offs.
- Perform on-site field measurements to ensure precise design and installation requirements.
- Review, interpret, and analyze architectural, construction, and cabinet drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers to coordinate cabinet orders, project schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Communicate design details, specifications, and project requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Verify design accuracy and ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience as a Cabinet Designer or similar design-related role.
- 3–5 years of experience utilizing 2020 Design Software.
- Experience reading and interpreting commercial cabinet drawings and construction plans.
- Strong understanding of commercial cabinetry systems and installation practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with material take-offs, estimating, and project coordination.
Skills
- Experience working on commercial cabinetry projects.
- Understanding of building materials and cabinet construction methods.
- Familiarity with project scheduling and delivery coordination.
- Prior experience collaborating with contractors, architects, and construction teams.
Work Environment
This is an office and field-based role, involving occasional site visits for measurements and project coordination. You will work in a collaborative team environment, closely with project managers and operations personnel. The setting is fast-paced with multiple active projects.
This is a permanent, fully onsite position based in Ankeny, IA.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $45,000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
