Drafter/Designer

About the role

Discover a more connected career at AtErvin Cable Construction, LLC, as a Drafter Designer. You'll plot, map, design, and draft in CADD using the requirements for telecommunications networks and permits.

Responsibilities

• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, including bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
• Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
• Maintain project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or at least three years of telecommunications OSP Design/Engineering Experience is required
• Average Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
• Knowledge of Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Government permit requirements
• OSP Communications Design systems Applications such as NDS, FROGS, AutoCAD, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
• Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment

Qualifications

• Physical Abilities & Exposures: Routinely work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse; occasionally operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
