Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 3D models and assembly structures from 2D engineering drawings and specifications.
- Generate detailed manufacturing drawings, including machining details, weldments, and assembly layouts.
- Develop and modify simple components, brackets, and assembly elements as required to support active projects.
- Organize, maintain, and update drawing files to ensure availability and version accuracy across production teams.
- Respond to drawing-related questions and provide clarification to machinists, welders, and assembly personnel to enable efficient execution.
- Ensure drafting outputs meet company standards, tolerancing practices, safety considerations, and industry expectations for manufacturability.
- Identify opportunities to streamline drafting workflows and reduce design errors by improving consistency and documentation enhancements.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent training
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
- Proficiency with AutoCAD for 2D drafting
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and production teams
- Understanding of machining and fabrication principles is considered an asset
