Drafter

Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate 3D models and assembly structures from 2D engineering drawings and specifications.
• Generate detailed manufacturing drawings, including machining details, weldments, and assembly layouts.
• Develop and modify simple components, brackets, and assembly elements as required to support active projects.
• Organize, maintain, and update drawing files to ensure availability and version accuracy across production teams.
• Respond to drawing-related questions and provide clarification to machinists, welders, and assembly personnel to enable efficient execution.
• Ensure drafting outputs meet company standards, tolerancing practices, safety considerations, and industry expectations for manufacturability.
• Identify opportunities to streamline drafting workflows and reduce design errors by improving consistency and documentation enhancements.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Drafting, Mechanical Design Technology, or equivalent training
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or SolidWorks
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for 2D drafting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and accuracy in documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering and production teams
• Understanding of machining and fabrication principles is considered an asset
