Drafter 1 - Substation
About the role
This is an entry level position which requires an individual to have an interest and/or ability to create engineering and standard drawings for Substation Design.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare substation physical related drawings such as site plan and elevation views, control building details, grading plans, foundation details, grounding and conduit plans, and other related drawings, geometrical, and minor engineering computations.
- Prepare protection and control related drawings such as plan and single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and other related drawings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Complexity Of Work
Generally routine, established precedents; practices and procedures exist.
Relationship Outside Work
Group Exchange of routine information only.
Qualifications

Education And/or Experience
- Required High school degree or GED.
- Experience 0-1 Year(s) Experience in AutoCAD, Microstation or other CAD tools
- Experience in the production of engineering quality drawings
Regularity Of Attendance
REGULAR ATTENDANCE is required.
On-the-job Training
Moderate amount of on-the-job training to use client programs and processes.

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
