About the role
The AC Hotel by Marriott Downtown Chicago is seeking a Door Person to join our team. This role involves welcoming and assisting guests, transporting luggage, and ensuring a smooth arrival experience. Nestled in the heart of downtown Chicago, our hotel offers a stylish, fast-paced environment where people are at the center of everything we do.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome all guests, check-in/check-out, and effectively resolve challenging guest requests and complaints.
- Lift, carry, load luggage onto bell cart, read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, and escort guests to their rooms with their items.
- Represent the hotel with professionalism and decorum, especially during emergency and heavy hotel activity.
- Maintain condition and cleanliness of work area.
- Perform seasonal snow removal near the entryway.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to speak, understand, and read the English language in order to communicate with guests and follow instructions.
- Ability to grasp, lift, and/ or carry or otherwise move packages and boxes and luggage up to 75 lbs. continuously throughout the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and continuously perform essential job functions.
- Sufficient manual dexterity in one hand to be able to load and unload luggage.
- Concierge Services and knowledge of the Chicago Downtown area preferred.
