Responsibilities
- Greet and assist hotel guests arriving and departing in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist guests at hotel curbside: open doors, carry luggage, and direct them to the front desk for check-in.
- Hail taxi cabs for guests and dispatch sufficient taxis to the hotel or other loading points.
- Provide accurate information and directions about the hotel and surrounding area.
- Monitor the hotel entrance for suspicious activity.
- Drive hotel vehicles short distances for guest drop-offs and pick-ups as requested.
- Communicate with drivers, co-workers, and supervisors; address any concerns.
- Write factual reports on deviations from normal operations.
- Identify and report safety issues immediately to a supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including glass cleaning and trash removal.
- Clean the break room: empty trash, vacuum, and wipe down tables.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Pay
$17.00 per hour
Requirements
- Must be punctual and maintain excellent attendance.
- Prior customer service and hotel experience preferred.
- Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of the metro area is desirable.
- Must read and write English exceptionally well.
- Ability to communicate effectively with guests, drivers, and co-workers across diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple instructions and short correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and reports legibly.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and group settings.
- Basic mathematical skills: ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to make sound judgments and educate others about policies/procedures without enforcement.
- Ability to demonstrate patience in difficult communication situations.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision and demonstrate fair, impartial judgment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle, talk, and listen.
- Exposed to outside weather conditions, including snow storms and extreme heat.
- Work in and around potentially dangerous traffic situations; must remain safety-conscious at all times.
- Frequently required to reach and/or communicate with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly exposed to high levels of noise and/or fumes from vehicles.
