About the role
The Door and Millwork Plant Operation Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of the plant. This position oversees yard operations, supervises employees, and maintains a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate employees, train, assign, and distribute work tasks
- Create and maintain a comfortable and safe working environment
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with customers
- Manage personnel changes and assist in hiring new employees
- Assign and enforce overtime work
- Investigate employee misconduct and safety violations
- Maintain a well-rounded staff through cross-training and continuing education
- Ensure cleanliness and appropriate inventory levels in the yard
- Respond to customer complaints and concerns
- Schedule delivery orders and credit returns
- Set and hold team accountable for work schedules and performance
- Perform daily safety audits and report malfunctioning equipment
- Complete and submit monthly fuel and mileage reports
- Facilitate group discussions and develop best practices for yard operations
- Manage inventory locations and oversee inventory prep and post procedures
- Prepare and deliver reviews, conduct interviews, and perform performance improvement notices
- Communicate with all levels of management and employees
- Manage and maintain a safe and efficient fleet of vehicles
- Manage DOT physicals and other administrative tasks
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous experience in a similar job
- 1 year of leadership experience preferred
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Class C driver’s license with a good driving record
- OSHA Certified Forklift License
- Ability to speak, write, and read English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material

Pay
$36.18 - $40.89 per hour
Schedule
This position primarily works outdoors in all weather conditions. Typical hours are between 5:00am to 5:00pm, with potential for overtime. All locations are closed on Sundays.
