Domestic Operations Supervisor

Overview

The Domestic Operations Supervisor is responsible for performance management and professional development of the Operations team. Key responsibilities include:

• Managing warehouse functions such as inbound receipts, outbound shipments, storage, stocking, and inventory control.
• Improving processes, standardizing procedures, and documenting all operations shifts.
• Ensuring inventory control and reconciliation for in-house customers.
• Scheduling daily routes and shipments, tracking progress, and setting up cartage operations over weekends.
• Coordinating with service providers and partners globally, managing shipment bookings, and overseeing daily domestic service and operations activities.
• Communicating and building strong partnerships with trucking companies, internal/external customers, customs brokers, sales forces, and vendors.
• Assisting with identifying and resolving service and operations-related issues, including on-time delivery, accurate data entry, and efficient warehouse operations.
• Coaching and training employees, ensuring safe working environments, and participating in the interview and onboarding processes.
• Assisting with completing departmental tasks as needed, including handling customer inquiries and resolving complaints.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of freight forwarding experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• A degree or equivalent work experience, with a preference for associate’s degree or higher.
• Domestic experience, with a strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
• Forklift certification, with additional CW or international experience considered advantageous.
• Progressively responsible supervisory experience and labor scheduling skills.
• Experience with AS400/Worldport systems, though not required.
• A strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
