Dog Care Manager

About the role

Austin Pets Alive! is not your average animal shelter. We maintain comprehensive, innovative programs designed to save the animals most at risk for euthanasia.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage innovative animal rescue and care programs
• Collaborate with local organizations to improve animal welfare
• Develop and execute fundraising strategies to support our mission
• Engage with the community to raise awareness about animal issues
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the shelter

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (animal science, social work, etc.)
• Experience in animal rescue and care
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passion for animal welfare and advocacy

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an animal shelter or related field
• Knowledge of animal behavior and health
• Experience with fundraising and grant writing
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills

Skills

• Strong leadership and management skills
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
