About The Role

As the Documentation Lead for Canton Network, you will serve as the guardian of the ecosystem's knowledge, owning and maintaining world-class documentation as the single source of truth for the entire community. You will sit within the Education vertical and work to ensure that every builder has the resources they need to successfully build on Canton.

Responsibilities

  • Own, maintain, and evolve world-class documentation that serves as the single source of truth for the Canton ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to drive feedback loops to ensure documentation stays synchronized with the latest software release cycles.
  • Produce and maintain Canton's developer docs, including conceptual docs, tutorials, guides, upgrade notes, SDK/API documentation, etc.
  • Monitor and improve documentation SEO and searchability to minimize "no result" queries and close content gaps.
  • Leveraging LLM-enhanced search tools and search analytics to identify content gaps where users are asking questions but finding no documentation.
  • Analyze documentation metrics including drop-off rates, heatmaps, and sentiment feedback to continuously optimize the information architecture and content flow.
  • Work to increase the Deflection Rate by proactively solving user issues through clear documentation and reducing the volume of support tickets coming into Sales and Client Experience.
  • Collaborate with ecosystem partners and vendors to expand documentation coverage and quality.
  • Support the Evangelism team by providing accurate technical content to inform outreach and advocacy efforts.
  • Maintain the documentation repository architecture, including automated deployments via GitHub Actions and a single source of truth.

Qualifications

  • You are obsessed with clarity and know that good documentation is the difference between a developer adopting a tool or abandoning it.
  • You have proven experience as a technical writer or technical writing lead, including managing writers and driving documentation strategy.
  • You have experience treating documentation as a product by tracking usage, sentiment, and success metrics like ticket deflection to prove ROI.
  • You have a strong technical aptitude and can read code and work closely with engineers to translate complex technical concepts into accessible guides.
  • You are data-driven and comfortable using tools like Google Analytics or heatmaps to identify where developers are getting stuck.
  • You have experience working in a fast-paced environment where software updates are frequent and you know how to keep docs from going stale.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.

Pay

US base salary range: $155,000 - $185,000 USD. Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate's location and experience, and may vary if based outside the New York tri-state area.
