Responsibilities

  • Controls applicable quality assurance documentation generated, assembled, and maintained for a specific project
  • Reviews all records for legibility, completeness, traceability to the item, and conformance to specified acceptance standards
  • Receives, maintains, and distributes a variety of secure records, such as contract documents, procedures, drawings, instructions, and construction documents, including their revisions
  • Develops and maintains various logs and reports, including Customer Purchase Orders
  • Maintains a log sheet for all controlled copies of the Quality Assurance Manual
  • Provides records of all transmittals and returns from the customer and obtains and documents approval and comment transactions
  • Issues the approved Work Package
  • Controls access to secure records
  • Supervises, trains, evaluates, and develops direct report(s) to ensure maximum returns on investment
  • Addresses complaints appropriately
  • Provides guidance, direction, coaching, and support to direct reports to maximize individual and overall department performance
  • Holds timely performance appraisals and progress reviews
  • Assists direct reports in developing short and long-term goals that align with department and Company mission and strategy
  • Ensures direct reports receive appropriate training that aligns with career development plans; training may be remedial, ‘maintenance’, or geared to promotion
  • Takes appropriate action to develop direct reports including, but not limited to, preparing and monitoring career development plans, promotions, demotions, lateral moves, corrective action, and progressive discipline
  • Recommends appropriate compensation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the civil discipline
  • Knowledge of the general structure of quality assurance programs, especially of document control procedures and systems under those programs
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge with applicable Quality codes and standards and NRC regulations
  • Quality assurance experience in the nuclear power industry (DOE/DOD facilities) preferred
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and understanding of 10CFR50, App. B, ASME NQA-1 and ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Sections II, V, and IX
  • Knowledge of construction practices (i.e., formwork, rebar, concrete placing, etc.) is preferred
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work within a multifunctional team, recognizing and balancing various project needs against individual project requirements
