Responsibilities
- Performs electronic legal docketing via docketing software (CompuLaw) from court documents, correspondence, rules, and statutes.
- Proven ability to independently research dates when necessary to supplement automated information.
- Receives and reviews documents (correspondence, emails, forms, pleadings, etc.) submitted to the Docket Department for processing.
- Determines method of service; utilizes CompuLaw and its incorporated rule sets to automatically calculate due dates, deadlines, and/or events in accordance with the appropriate rules.
- Manually modifies docket event descriptions as requested and/or required.
- Manually overrides resulting due dates, deadlines, and/or events as necessary.
- Advises attorneys and staff accordingly.
- Proofreads and reviews calendar entries to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required and a college degree or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of three years California litigation experience required and must have experience working with a variety of courts systems.
- CompuLaw experience strongly preferred.
- Paralegal certificate helpful.
