Docketing Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Performs electronic legal docketing via docketing software (CompuLaw) from court documents, correspondence, rules, and statutes.
  • Proven ability to independently research dates when necessary to supplement automated information.
  • Receives and reviews documents (correspondence, emails, forms, pleadings, etc.) submitted to the Docket Department for processing.
  • Determines method of service; utilizes CompuLaw and its incorporated rule sets to automatically calculate due dates, deadlines, and/or events in accordance with the appropriate rules.
  • Manually modifies docket event descriptions as requested and/or required.
  • Manually overrides resulting due dates, deadlines, and/or events as necessary.
  • Advises attorneys and staff accordingly.
  • Proofreads and reviews calendar entries to ensure accuracy.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required and a college degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Combination of education and experience must demonstrate the ability to do the essential functions of the position.
  • Minimum of three years California litigation experience required and must have experience working with a variety of courts systems.
  • CompuLaw experience strongly preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate helpful.
