About the role
The Security - Loading Dock Officer is responsible for overseeing the secure and efficient operation of loading docks at designated client locations. This position plays a critical role in managing deliveries, monitoring inbound and outbound traffic, and ensuring compliance with security protocols and facility procedures specific to each site.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting vendors, employees, tenants, and visitors.
- Monitor and control access to client loading docks and adjacent areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry.
- Greet and verify delivery personnel, vendors, and contractors entering the loading dock area.
- Maintain a visible presence and patrol assigned dock zones to deter theft, vandalism, or unauthorized activity.
- Answer incoming calls and manage communication related to dock operations.
- Enforce building and loading dock policies and procedures within established guidelines.
- Inspect outgoing deliveries to ensure authorized removal of property.
- Monitor security systems and alarms related to dock areas.
- Prepare incident and activity reports as required.
- Follow established emergency protocols and support evacuation procedures if needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid state-mandated security officer license or ability to obtain one.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in security, preferably with logistics or dock-related responsibilities.
- Reliable transportation and effective communication skills.
- Professional appearance and customer service mindset.
- Ability to write routine reports and complete logs accurately.
- Familiarity with security systems, access control devices, and safety protocols.
Pay & Schedule
- Hourly pay rate: $32.36
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
