Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant – HS Clinical Faculty

About the role

The Divisions of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting for faculty positions at the ranks of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical faculty series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as nighttime attendings, providing front-line coverage for patient concerns and admissions.
• Provide on-call support for Hematology-Oncology/BMT fellows and attending physicians (in person or by phone).
• Treatment of common acute issues such as transfusion needs, sepsis, anaphylaxis, and pain management.
• Contribute to daytime care on a rotating basis.
• Perform procedures such as lumbar punctures and bone marrow aspirates/biopsies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurses, case managers, dietitians, pharmacists, NPs, residents, students, fellows, and attendings.

Requirements

• Medical degree and license
• Board eligibility or certification in Pediatrics
• A strong interest in academic pediatrics and clinical education

Preferred Qualifications

• Board eligibility or certification in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology
• Proven abilities in collaborative teamwork
• Experience in supervising residents and medical students in clinical settings
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse forums

Benefits

For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Pay

For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $78,900-$238,300.
