Summary/Primary Purpose
The role with a focus on payroll is responsible for a wide range of duties, encompassing both human resources and payroll administration. Key responsibilities include processing payroll, benefits administration, new hire orientation and ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Supports HR Department’s customer-focused philosophy in employee and officer interactions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurately entering, maintaining, and processing payroll information, including deductions, taxes, garnishments, and other relevant data with HRIS (ADP) system
- Administration of employee benefits, pension and 403(B) programs, including enrollment, changes, and billing
- Responsible for New Hire Orientation ensuring timely delivery of information on TSA, handbook and policies, benefits and collecting of documents required for employment
- Provides information and/or training on ADP access, and payroll processing for new supervisors and Officers
- Manages the Litmos training database for WST and provides training via Teams for Corps or Departments as requested and/or needed
- Maintains personnel records, handles employee inquiries, employment and income verifications. Assists in gathering information and creating audit, payroll and other reports for internal and external use
- Addresses employee inquiries via phone, email or regular mail regarding benefits, paychecks, deductions, and other HR related matters
- Data entry into ADP for all HR activities such as hires, terminations, status changes, pay changes, title changes, promotions, discipline...
- Creates and maintains an audit schedule and ensure all HR related documents/data are complete and on file in preparation of any audit
- Ensures compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations related to payroll and HR
- This position will be required to work when payroll processing falls on a holiday
- Assists with processing seasonal hires throughout the year
Qualifications
- The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
- Familiarity with HR and payroll processing within the ADP platform
- Proficient in PC-based work environments, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Strong organizational, time management and administrative skills
- Strong numerical and analytical skills: Essential for accurate calculations and analysis
- Attention to detail: Ensuring accuracy in HR and/or payroll processing tasks
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and active listening)
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively meets deadlines
- Self-starter with ability to set priorities and work independently
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Must respect and maintain confidentiality
