About the role
The Division Sales Manager is responsible for managing, directing, and implementing the sales programs and systems to achieve or exceed individual and divisional sales and profit goals. This person will utilize the company’s FACE values, mission, and vision as guides in leading their employees and reaching the team’s goals.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with sales team and their customers
- Initiate selection process of salespeople
- Identify personnel needs of yards regarding sales staff
- Identify areas of improvement in sales plan and articulate changes to sales staff
- Identify and implement skills development programs for sales staff
- Maintain a well-rounded sales staff through cross training, open communications, and continuing education
- Aid in the creation and achievement of the company’s annual sales projections
- Maintain corporate guidelines and criteria for customer service
- Continually update product knowledge and selling techniques and assist Yard Management in training yard level employees where needed.
- Lead regular meetings with team members
- Aid in minimizing inter-yard competition
- Track and report sales staff achievement
- Motivate and recognize performance amongst your team
- Manage sales team to work inside preferred vendor network and honor agreements
- Develop and execute “add-on sales promotional” program
- Focus on supporting sales growth within all lines of business
- Develop and maintain pricing & bidding strategies
- Develop and maintain “Inside/Outside Sales Team” concept and practices
- Develop and maintain program for customer satisfaction and gaining new customers
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience as a building materials salesperson
- Prior supervisory/management experience preferred
- Class C driver’s license and must have and maintain a good driving record required
- Ability to speak, write, and read English required
- Proficient with technology. Computer, smartphone, scanner, and any other equipment necessary for the job
- Proficient with Excel with Parr POS system
- Knowledge of lumber and plywood purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
- Knowledge of home and commercial construction principles, practices, and protocols
- Leadership experience, traits, and skills required
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to work cordially, professionally, diplomatically and with a high level of customer service in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrate sound judgment in dealing with sensitive business matters with internal and external customers of all types
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of all information related to company finances and records, particularly, cost of goods purchased and sold
- Ability and willingness to identify processes, tools and/or procedures that may be improved upon in an effort to improve the workplace and outcomes for our customers
- Ability to communicate with all levels of management and employees at a high skill level and speak effectively in front of groups
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to grasp, talk, hear, and operate a computer and keyboard
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds and carry objects 50 feet
- Must be able to drive a vehicle when necessary
- Both local and overnight travel may be required

Pay
$117,605-$141,125 annually
Schedule
This position works on a computer in an office and on the road visiting different locations, customers, and vendors. The typical working days for this position are Monday-Friday with the working hours usually falling in a 7 am to 5 pm window with extra hours and weekend work as needed.
