About the role
The Division Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies within the division. This role ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, promotes a culture of safety, and works to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute safety programs tailored to the division's needs, ensuring alignment with corporate safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, covering topics such as emergency procedures, hazardous material handling, and workplace ergonomics.
- Regularly inspect facilities and operations to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Address any safety violations promptly.
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Perform regular safety audits and risk assessments, documenting findings and implementing necessary improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, ensuring all employees are trained and prepared for potential emergencies.
- Work closely with other departments to integrate safety practices into all aspects of operations.
- Provide guidance and support to management and staff on safety-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety coordination or similar role, preferably within the same industry.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices. Familiarity with OSHA regulations is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct thorough investigations and risk assessments.
- A high level of attention to detail, ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are meticulously followed.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and build strong working relationships.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST)) are preferred.

Pay
- Safety Specialist I: $77,440 - $87,120.
- Safety Specialist II: $88,000 - $99,000.
- Senior Safety Specialist: $107,760 - $121,230, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of the base salary.
Schedule
- The position is located in the general Stockton, CA area and will require travel to other local plants.
