Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the Division, ensuring alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with Division and Department leadership to develop and execute strategic plans, goals, and performance metrics.
  • Promote a unified leadership approach and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture across all neonatal sites.
  • Identify emerging challenges and opportunities and develop actionable solutions.

Department Specific Job Details

  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, safe, and evidence-based neonatal care across all practice locations.
  • Lead the refresh, development and implementation of standardized clinical guidelines, protocols, and care pathways based on evidenced based practice.
  • Oversee quality improvement initiatives and address quality-of-care concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission requirements.
  • Promote transparency and accessibility of clinical performance and outcomes data.

Faculty and Staff Development

  • Recruit, retain, and develop high-quality faculty and staff.
  • Partner with leadership to create and implement faculty development and advancement programs, including mentorship and educational initiatives.
  • Monitor and promote faculty engagement and satisfaction, implementing improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Uphold standards of professional conduct and accountability.

Operations and Performance Management

  • Oversee physician and advanced practice professional staffing models and scheduling to ensure timely, efficient patient care.
  • Manage clinical productivity and performance expectations for medical staff.
  • Contribute to departmental operations, including budgeting, capital planning, and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational standards.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Foster effective communication across the Division, hospital leadership, and neonatal care sites.
  • Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with administrative leaders, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Communicate effectively with referring providers and external partners.
  • Support colleagues in clinical practice and operational efficiency.

Academic and Professional Engagement

  • Support and advance the Division’s academic mission, including research and education.
  • Remain current with local, regional, and national trends in neonatology and healthcare delivery.
  • Represent the Division within the organization and in external professional settings as appropriate.
