The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking an exemplary leader to serve as Division Head. This position offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership during a pivotal period of growth and transformation.

The Division of Neonatology

The Division of Neonatology is nationally recognized for its excellence with our team providing the highest level of care to critically ill and premature infants in the region at our 64-bed level IV NICU at Lurie Children’s Hospital and an adjacent 84-bed level III NICU at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women’s Hospital – the largest birthing center in the region with 12,000 births per year. The division is home to several cutting-edge clinical programs, offers a top-tier neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship and is a national leader in neonatal research and collaboration. The division partners closely with the Regenstein Cardiac Care Unit and Chicago Institute for Fetal Health, both state-of-the-art centers within Lurie Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Set and execute the division's strategic vision
  • Oversee all clinical care, research endeavors, educational efforts, advocacy, and administrative operations
  • Act as the representative in interactions with Department leadership, Lurie Children’s Medical Group leadership, hospital administration, external groups and philanthropic donors
  • Oversee divisional operational, philanthropic, and grant funding in partnership with the Executive Director and Division Administrator

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership in clinical care, research development, education, and/or administration
  • Strong clinical expertise and proven track record of scholarly activity within neonatology
  • Strategic, thoughtful leadership approach with robust experience in academic medical center settings
  • Demonstrated commitment to faculty mentorship and career development
  • MD or DO, or MD/PhD, with board-certification in Pediatrics and Neonatology-Perinatal Medicine
  • Minimum 5–7 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in neonatology
  • Medical licensure in Illinois (or ability to obtain)

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is $368,000 to $493,000.
