About the Role

This position serves as a Dive Operations Supply Technician III, Dive Maintenance Technician, and 3M Work Center Supervisor, supporting the Diving Department’s Diver Life Support Equipment and ancillary equipment at JEB Little Creek – Fort Story in Virginia Beach, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Forecast, order, and manage all necessary preventative and corrective maintenance parts and equipment with inventory control.
  • Assist the Work Center Supervisor in managing equipment parts and consumables for Diver Life Support Equipment and ancillary gear.
  • Apply working knowledge of logistics and requisition procedures, including Government Purchase Card Program (GCPC), Mil-Strip, Contracts, and Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPA).
  • Process and manage initial gear receipt, sustainment, and operational consumables.
  • Conduct research for equipment and parts procurement, draft supply documents, and submit for review and approval.
  • Track MFP2 and MFP11 budgets, requisition status, and parts inventories.
  • Maintain the Authorized Users List (AUL) of hazardous materials and a library of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for proper handling and storage.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance as mandated by OPNAV Instruction 4790, including SCUBA tanks, regulators, air compressors, Haskel oxygen charging booster pumps, diagnostic test equipment, buoyancy compensators, surface swim life preservers, depth/pressure gauges, underwater communications, full-face diving masks, Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS), and NAVSEA Certified Life Support Systems.

Qualifications

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in operating a PC with standard business software, including Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Navy Dive School certification (NEC 5342 / MDV1 or higher).
  • Minimum five years’ experience as a certified 5342/MDV1 diver.
  • Qualification as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor.
  • Qualified in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43910-H.
  • Factory-trained certification for diving equipment within inventory, DLSS Re-Entry Control (REC) Supervisor, and Oxygen Clean System Worker.
  • Minimum of three years of Naval Special Warfare (NSW) experience.
