About the role
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) seeks a qualified and motivated OSHA Specialist to support and enhance our commitment to workplace safety. This position plays a critical role in coordinating with WYDOT’s Employee Safety Program to ensure district employees are properly trained and consistently adhere to all agency safety policies and procedures, as well as applicable state and federal safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the WYDOT Employee Safety Program to implement safety initiatives
- Ensure compliance with WYDOT safety policies, OSHA standards, and state and federal safety requirements
- Develop, deliver, and document formal and informal safety training programs
- Certify and instruct employees in required safety practices and procedures
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across district operations
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Experience: Three (3) or more years of relevant experience with OSHA
- Knowledge: Knowledge of report writing, federal and state safety rules, accident investigation techniques, safety inspection procedures, and hazardous materials specialist certification
Qualifications
- Preferences: Current CDL holder, OSHA 10 certificate, 30 hours instructor certification, First Aid/CPR/AED certification, Hazardous Materials Specialist certification, knowledge of report writing, knowledge of federal and state safety rules
Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to conduct safety inspections and investigations
- Proficiency in safety management software and databases
- Excellent organizational and time management skills

Pay
$2,000 Hiring Bonus available upon meeting eligibility criteria
