District Team Lead

About the role

The District Team Lead is one of the first-line representatives to our customers, responsible for maintaining the daily operations of single or multiple site locations. In addition to Store Manager duties, the District Team Lead assists the District Manager in executing the district’s vision and strategy and supports the Division Learning Manager with training initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide district leadership and perform training functions, including:
  • Ensuring completion of Day One Onboarding for new hires
  • Training and developing new employees using Extra Space University (LMS) and adult learning methodologies
  • Providing ongoing training, mentoring, and follow-up skill retraining through role-playing, coaching, and knowledge sharing
  • Serving as a resource and policy/procedure expert for operations, sales, marketing, and computer processes
  • Coordinating and delivering training in district meetings and conference calls, including job aids and team-building activities
• Screen candidates for open positions
• Act as the first contact for customer issues before escalation to the District Manager
• Partner with the District Manager to drive operational goals and district contests
• Adequately schedule personnel
• Assist the District Manager in conducting audits, Extra Clean site visits, and other district projects
• Coordinate activities related to new store openings and closings

Requirements

• Current Driver License and ability to travel to multiple properties
• Tenured Store Manager with at least six months of experience at Extra Space Storage
• High School diploma/GED equivalent
• At least one year of related experience in direct sales, retail, and/or customer service
• Leadership skills and experience supervising others
• Preference given for college coursework or degrees
