• Provides consultation and training to Probation and Parole Staff, facility MH&W staff, and community partners.

Minimum qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in the provision of mental health services to a varied population.
• Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders, the ability to develop intervention and case planning recommendations, and to provide individual and group counseling/therapy.
• Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and provide training to others.

Additional qualifications

• Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Social Work, or equivalent degree in related human services field from an accredited university or college or an equivalent combination of training and experience, with advanced coursework in mental health enabling the fulfillment of required tasks and qualifications for a Mental Health Service Provider as mandated by the Code of Virginia.
• Experience providing mental health services in a correctional, forensic, or outpatient setting.
• Licensed as a mental health clinician, QMHP or QMHP-eligible as dictated by the Code of Virginia.
