Miami University Regionals is seeking a full-time, 12-month, continuing Mental Health Clinician to provide clinical services at the Hamilton campus with occasional travel to the Middletown campus.
About the role
The Mental Health Clinician provides generalist clinical services to college students, consultation to faculty, staff, students, and families, and psycho-educational outreach and programming during the Fall and Spring semesters.
Responsibilities
- Provide multi-culturally informed generalist mental health counseling services, including screenings for mental health, substance use, and attention problems, as well as individual and group counseling and psychotherapy for students with a wide range of concerns.
- Intervene in crisis and emergency mental health situations involving students.
- Consult with families, faculty, staff, and other professionals regarding student mental health needs.
- Deliver psycho-educational programming to various groups within the university community.
- Maintain clinical records, documentation, and communication with external practitioners as required for ethical treatment.
- Attend and participate in clinical staff meetings and consultations.
- Perform administrative duties as assigned, including potential service on departmental, divisional, and university committees.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in an accredited mental health training program (e.g., social work, mental health counseling, psychology) by the date of appointment.
- Dependently licensed or license-eligible in Ohio within one’s field of training; independently licensed in Ohio preferred.
- Training or experience providing mental health services to a university student population is desirable.
Pay
Salary range: $55,000 – $62,000, commensurate with position level, education, and experience.
Schedule
40 scheduled weekly hours; 12-month continuing position.
