Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Performs all duties under appropriate clinical supervision, conducting assessments and sessions in accordance with provided training.
  • Conducts evaluations and assessments for children, adolescents and adults using standardized psychological tests to assess for intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Develops person-centered treatment plans based on assessments of individual needs, identifying areas of focus and therapeutic goals in collaboration with persons supported and their families.
  • Conducts individual, family and group therapy sessions for children, adolescents and adults on an ongoing or as needed basis.
  • Evaluates progress and effectiveness of clinical services provided, documenting in accordance with all applicable requirements and updating treatment plans as necessary.
  • Maintains clinical documentation and paperwork in appropriate systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, rules and regulations.
  • Maintains regular monitoring of electronic communication methods, providing timely responses and coordinating scheduling, clinical and billing-related needs or inquiries.
  • Engages with the clinic mental health team, attending check-ins, meetings and participating in clinical supervisions.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team, including clinic support staff, external providers and/or other outside agencies or entities, as needed.
  • Participates in supervision of clinical student interns, observing sessions, providing feedback, compiling session notes and preparing billing documentation.
  • Complies with all Federal, State, Local and other relevant regulatory agency requirements, including HIPAA, and cooperates with inspections, inquiries or investigations.
  • Assists with ongoing clinical trainings, conducting supervisions and training less experienced clinicians or newly hired staff.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

  • Current license and registration issued by NYSED as LMSW, LMHC, LCSW or Psychologist.
  • A student, intern or resident in psychology, pursuing a doctoral degree in psychology from an approved institution by NYSED, or a current Limited Permit issued by NYSED (approval required by NYSED prior to start date).
  • A Master’s degree in Psychology or its equivalent and satisfactory proof of qualifying, continuous employment commencing on or before June 24, 2022 in a program or service operated, regulated, funded or approved by OPWDD or another human services agency consistent with the grandparenting provision defined in Part Y of Chapter 57 of the Laws of 2018 as described in OPWDD interpretative memo issued October 7, 2022 and Guidelines to Implement Part Y of Chapter 57 of the Laws of 2018 issued by NYSED or any subsequent updates or related provisions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate with the clinic mental health team and staff across other disciplines, families and external providers.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of ethics and integrity, with a commitment to objectivity and upholding the integrity of clinical service provision and ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented and highly organized, with strong time management skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities to meet billing submission deadlines/timelines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Excel and Word, email management and electronic systems such as EHR software.
  • Completes all required trainings for assignment and actively participates in regular clinical supervisions.
  • Ability to report on-site to assigned clinic location(s) across the NYC metropolitan area on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required by caseload, which may include some evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of position, including the ability to sit for extended periods, push/pull and reach with hands and arms to retrieve and display materials or to open and close doors; use hands to handle, finger or feel objects, tools or controls and ability to complete room set up for sessions, which may include moving/sliding tables, chairs and other equipment around or to room and to otherwise move around the office/clinic.

Preferred Qualification Requirements

  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Verbal and/or written fluency in a second language preferred, Spanish highly preferred.

Compensation

$60,000 annually, plus bonus incentives.
