This position manages the operating, service, and sales function for the district by meeting the equipment rental needs of the construction industry, industrial companies, and comparable customers. Responsibilities include overall management of profit and loss, budgeting, and staffing, driving an aggressive growth strategy for the designated district.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, develop, evaluate, and influence effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS).
  • Model, promote, reinforce, and reward the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with the company’s Vision, Values, and Mission.
  • Drive a safety-first culture throughout the district and company.
  • Design, develop, and implement budgets to optimize revenue targets for all branch operations within the assigned territory.
  • Establish criteria to ensure compliance with company guidelines and effective operations.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop operations, service, and sales workforce, fostering a customer-centric approach to sales and service.
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers, Service Managers, and Sales Managers to formulate strategies to meet or exceed Business Plan Forecasts.
  • Mentor Branch Managers and store personnel, providing tools to maximize revenues, branch profitability, and performance.
  • Develop and implement Key Performance Indicators for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Lead product quality and customer satisfaction at a district level through coaching and best practice reviews.
  • Manage and lead district business development, customer retention, and market expansion.
  • Develop and implement strategic business and sales plans and forecasts.
  • Ensure branches align with and exceed operational excellence goals and reviews.
  • Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of successful business management experience, including previous branch or territory management, preferably in the construction equipment rental industry.
  • A minimum of five years of progressive supervisory experience.
  • A proven track record of sales and customer service/retention experience.
  • Coaching/mentoring experience with branch management.

Skills

  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and the rental industry.
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • First-class presentation skills before both small and large groups.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to engage with vendors, staff, and corporate executives to exchange information, influence, and persuade.
  • Proficient problem-solving, planning, organization, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel within the organization and customer operations.
  • Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and understand abstract variables.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

Travel

Extensive travel, up to 75% to 85%, is required. A valid driver’s license is necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Extended periods in a stationary position; occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
  • Frequent communication with others to exchange accurate information.
  • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  • Ability to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Frequent movement of materials or equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs; requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
  • Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to safely maneuver and work underneath equipment.
  • Routine reaction to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and visual inspection of work.
  • Safety training required; PPE required outside of the office/parking lot area.

Work Environment

  • Generally performed in a professional office environment.
  • Occasional outdoor work with exposure to weather extremes (inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity).
  • Noise level may be loud at times.
  • Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment.
  • Occasional time spent in confined spaces and high places.
  • Frequent fast-paced work with unscheduled interruptions.
