District Manager - LC
About the Role
The District Manager will focus on the development and profitability of assigned retail outlets, including providing support and training to the store operations team of our Minuteman Food Marts, Minuteman Kitchens, and all branded and licensed food concepts. This position involves planning, implementing, training, and supporting all retail operations activities for assigned locations to ensure guest experience, sales, and financial performance expectations are met. This role requires open availability to support the business needs and includes P&L responsibility for driving top-line sales growth and margin while controlling expenses.
Responsibilities
- Work to meet financial objectives based on annual budget forecasts; analyze variances, initiate corrective actions, establish and monitor financial controls, and develop strategies to increase profitability.
- Monitor and review month-to-month and year-to-year financial information for each location to ensure financial targets are met.
- Develop action plans for underperforming locations to improve profitability.
- Monitor and manage the company’s KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) daily, weekly, and monthly to ensure achievement at the store level.
- Ensure proper staffing levels to maintain a quality guest experience.
- Respond to customer complaints, taking prompt action to resolve problems and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, select, orient, train, assign, schedule, coach, counsel, and discipline management staff; communicate job expectations, plan, monitor, appraise, and review job contributions, and enforce policies and procedures.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with store managers, providing learning and training opportunities to ensure execution of company plans and continued skill development.
- Work with HR to conduct annual reviews for direct reports and participate in evaluations of store staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Merchandising & Customer Engagement to develop and implement marketing, advertising, and community relations programs to drive top-line sales growth.
- Maintain foodservice standards by evaluating and auditing prepared food and beverage offerings in collaboration with the Food & Beverage team.
- Work with the Director of Safety to ensure a safe environment for customers and co-workers, complying with all local, state, and federal laws.
- Attend and pass all assigned training sessions.
- Manage inventory processes and procedures to ensure cost/margin targets are achieved; control purchases, review usage/sales reports, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee assigned Minuteman Food Marts to meet goals for staff development, sales growth, and profitability.
- Ensure all assigned locations adhere to established brand standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining guest satisfaction by adhering to company standards for quality, value, service, and cleanliness.
- Maintain positive working relationships with employees to foster a cooperative and productive work climate, maximizing morale, productivity, and efficiency while adhering to company core values.
Requirements
- Minimum of a High School Diploma; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of retail/convenience store experience with significant foodservice sales.
- Reliable transportation and up to 50% travel required.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with the help of material handling equipment.
