District Director of Enrollment Management
About the Role
Under administrative direction, the Director plans, directs, coordinates, and oversees the Districtwide Enrollment Management Plan, including institutional enrollment goals and action plans in support of the District's Educational Master Plan and Strategic Plan. This role monitors, researches, and analyzes data to develop and implement data-driven strategies supporting matriculation, outreach, and retention efforts. The Director reviews and establishes enrollment projections and targets, prepares and submits required state and federal reports, aligns services and resources to provide student access to classes, and supports student equity and success initiatives districtwide.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership for the planning, development, and implementation of the mission, vision, and goals for enrollment management at the District; develops and recommends action plans to achieve these goals.
- Plans, organizes, directs, controls, integrates, and evaluates the work of the Enrollment Services department; collaborates with managers and staff to develop, implement, and monitor work plans, budgets, and performance standards.
- Directs and manages the performance of managers and staff, including selection, performance monitoring, coaching, compensation recommendations, and disciplinary actions.
- Collaborates with the Districtwide Enrollment Management Committee to define enrollment management, assess and recommend policies, and develop a strategic Districtwide Enrollment Management Plan supporting the District's Educational Master Plan and Strategic Plan.
- Plans, designs, and consults on projects related to enrollment management, such as establishing Full-Time Equivalent Students (FTES) targets, reviewing enrollment projections, and recommending growth strategies.
- Works closely with Research and Institutional Effectiveness, Finance and Administration, Admissions and Records, Financial Aid, Counseling, and Vice Presidents and Deans of Student Services to align efforts with enrollment goals.
- Oversees the preparation, integrity, and submission of state and federal reports, including apportionment reports, MIS reports, IPEDS reports, and other compliance documents.
- Collects, compiles, analyzes, and presents data related to enrollment management using tools such as Microsoft Access, SQL, and Ellucian.
- Researches, monitors, and analyzes trends in enrollment management, retention, matriculation, and student lifecycle; collaborates with Research and Institutional Effectiveness to document and present findings.
- Provides leadership and support for data-sharing projects with local K-12 and university partners.
- Leads continuous improvement of Districtwide enrollment management and directs related workgroups and committees.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends changes to procedures and systems for collecting, reporting, and disseminating enrollment information.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including FERPA, Title V, and Education Code.
- Stays abreast of trends, technologies, and innovations in enrollment management, admissions, research, and student characteristics.
- Collaborates with college staff to maintain accurate course and program information in the District's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Manages the department budget and expenditures; prepares reports and presentations for the Board of Trustees, Chancellor, and other stakeholders.
- May conduct trainings on enrollment management practices and regulations.
- Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity to historically minoritized groups; participates in professional development to enhance equity-minded practices.
- Serves on committees and represents the District at local, regional, state, and national conferences and meetings.
- Participates in shared governance processes and initiatives.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
