Distribution Systems Operations Supervisor in Training

Core Responsibilities

• Participates in directing field personnel in emergency response to natural gas leaks and electric distribution outages under supervision
• Observes and practices developing restoration plans and directing field personnel during electric restoration
• Gains understanding of electric switching procedures
• Affords assistance with preparing gas-valving plans in emergency situations
• Uses DMS and EMS systems to monitor disturbances and assist with corrective actions
• Develops understanding of system modeling and operational studies
• Issues and releases hold-out tags under guidance
• Maintains monitoring of gas system pressures, flows, and odorant levels
• Supports reporting of system conditions and regulatory requirements
• Participates in shift rotation including nights, weekends, and holidays

Education & Experience

• Technical degree in electrical power, gas distribution, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Three years of related experience or equivalent experience
• Experience in operations, engineering, or field roles preferred
