Distribution Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Avery Dennison · Miamisburg, OH · 3 wk ago
On-siteDistributionFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes "Why join Avery Dennison" (company overview) maybe as About the role? Actually "Why join Avery Dennison" is about company culture. Could be placed under "About the role" or maybe "About the company". The instruction: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we need to decide which sections are present. Content includes: - Why join Avery Dennison: company overview (global, culture). Could be "About the role" or maybe "About the company". Since they said "About the role" as example, but we can use that heading for company overview. Probably appropriate. - Benefits: listed. - Job Description: includes role details, shift, teams, expectations. - Key Responsibilities: list. - Qualifications: list. - Additional Information: includes EEO etc which we should remove (boilerplate). Also includes Identity Verification etc - remove. - No explicit Pay or Schedule specifics beyond shift mention (second shift, ability to flex hours). The schedule is mentioned: "primarily on second shift with the flexibility to adjust hours to support and supervise third-shift operations." That's schedule info. So we could include a Schedule section with that detail. - Pay: not mentioned (no salary). So we should not include Pay section. - Skills: not explicitly listed separate; qualifications include skills. Could combine under Qualifications or Skills. But we have Qualifications section already; we could also have Skills if we want to extract skills like "continuous improvement project design and execution, proficiency in information systems including Google Suite, Excel, Oracle, and Loftware." However Qualifications already includes that. To avoid duplication, we can keep Qualifications and maybe not have Skills. We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent or summarize away detail. Use
  • for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use

for prose. We must not repeat job title as heading. Not include Job ID etc. We must remove boilerplate: Equal Opportunity Employer, Reasonable Accommodations Notice, Identity Verification Notice, Pre-employment Screening Notice. Also remove navigation/legal/EEO etc. Also remove "Learn more at www.averydennison.com." maybe keep? It's part of Why join Avery Dennison? It's a link; could be considered boilerplate? It's not navigation but it's a call to action. Might be considered promotional but not prohibited. However it's not essential; but we can keep as part of the company overview. It's not a list; we can keep as

. We must not create sections with filler like "commensurate with experience". Not present. We need to output only HTML fragment. Let's structure:

    Schedule

This position will be on second shift but will be supervising employees on both second and third shifts. • Skilled in continuous improvement project design and execution, with proficiency in information systems including Google Suite, Excel, Oracle, and Loftware.
We might also include a short paragraph about the role description (Job Description) before Responsibilities. The Job Description paragraph includes details about reporting, shift, teams, expectations. We could incorporate that into About the role or a separate section like "Job Overview". But we have only allowed headings list; we could add a "Job Overview" but not in the examples. However instruction: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It says e.g., not limited to those. So we can add other headings if needed, but better to stick to those. The job description details could go under About the role or Responsibilities. But we already have About the role with company overview; we could add a paragraph about the role there. However About the role currently is company overview; we could split: About the role includes both company overview and role summary. That's okay. Let's incorporate the Job Description paragraph into About the role after the company overview. Thus About the role

will contain both company overview and role description. Let's craft:

The Supervisor of Distribution will report to the Logistics Manager and will work primarily on second shift as a Distribution Supervisor. As a Distribution Supervisor, you will have direct reports and will be responsible for their performance and development. You will lead your staff to meet internal and external customer needs in a safe, high-quality, and cost-effective manner. This position will be on second shift but will be supervising employees on both second and third shifts. This role is responsible for two different teams of warehousers. The first team, working on second shift, manages the handling and shipping of the plant's finished goods and is comprised of 11 people. The second team spans across second and third shift, with 3 people on each shift, and is responsible for supplying raw materials to the production floor. Total direct report team is roughly 17 people. The expectation for this role is that the Distribution Supervisor will work a typical second shift schedule most of the time, with the ability to flex hours and frequently come in later to support and supervise third shift.

But we also have a Schedule section that repeats some of that. To avoid duplication, we could keep Schedule section brief and not duplicate the whole description. However instruction: Preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. If we put the schedule details in both About the role and Schedule, we are duplicating but not losing info. Duplication is allowed? It says do not repeat job title as a heading, but not about content duplication. It says preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. Duplication is not prohibited but could be considered redundant. Better to avoid duplication by moving schedule details to Schedule section and keep About the role focused on company overview and role summary without schedule specifics. However the role summary includes schedule specifics; we could keep them in About the role and not have a separate Schedule section. But we have schedule info that is substantive; we could include it in About the role. The instruction says prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. So maybe we skip Schedule section and include schedule details in About the role or Responsibilities. However Responsibilities already includes a bullet about work on-site with flexibility to adjust hours. That covers schedule partly. The schedule detail about typical second shift most of the time, ability to flex hours and frequently come in later to support third shift is not in responsibilities bullet. Could add to responsibilities bullet? But we must not invent; we can add a bullet under Responsibilities: "Work on-site in Maimisburg, OH primarily on second shift with the flexibility to adjust hours to support and supervise third-shift operations." That's already there. The additional schedule detail about typical second shift most of the time, ability to flex hours and frequently come in later to support third shift is similar but more specific. Could be considered part of that bullet; we could expand the bullet to include that detail. However we must not change the wording? We can keep as is; it's still substantive. The bullet already mentions flexibility to adjust hours to support and supervise third-shift operations. That captures the ability to flex hours. The "typical second shift schedule most of the time" is implied. So maybe we don't need separate Schedule section. Thus we can omit Schedule section. Now we have sections: About the role, Benefits, Responsibilities, Qualifications. Check if any other sections like Requirements? Qualifications covers requirements. Skills not separate. Now ensure we removed boilerplate: EEO etc removed. Now output HTML fragment. Let's craft final HTML:
