Distribution Planner I

Job Summary

As a Distribution Planner, you will become the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specific geographic area where you will balance the most cost-effective and customer-focused schedule to meet both the company goals and customer needs. You will collaborate with supply chain teams internally to resolve any day-to-day issues to continuously supply our customers in this 24/7 environment, monitoring multiple systems throughout the day to provide world-class customer service to our valued customers.

Principal Responsibilities

• Promote Messer’s safety goals and foster a positive team environment
• Schedule customer deliveries to avoid service interruptions at the lowest cost with the greatest utilization of assets and payloads
• Monitor alerts for changes in demand and adjust the delivery plan as needed to ensure continuous supply to customers
• Use proprietary software systems to accurately maintain data and determine forecasted customer demand
• Manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing priorities, identifying and resolving customer and location issues

Required Skills

• Prior transportation experience preferred
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Good critical thinking and math skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Capable of working efficiently with automated systems

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferably in business, logistics or supply chain management
• OR 3+ years of transportation dispatch, scheduling/planning experience acceptable with HSD in lieu of Bachelor's Degree
