Distribution Mechanic II

Responsibilities

• All activities covered under Mechanic 3.
• Performs welding and burning operations.
• Performs Shop and Field repair of Carbon steel pipe in accordance with the requirements of ASME B31.1 code for pressure piping.
• Welding able to pass X-ray examination of welded joints.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints (SR drawings).
• Thorough understanding of properties of steam.
• Ability to locate all system manholes & MLVS.
• Thorough understanding of the repair and principles of operation for: pumping devices, valves, PRVS, traps, piping systems, expansion joints, anchors.
• Must be proficient at pipefitting.
